General Notes and Conditions of Entry for all Trials
Please note alteration to condition number 15
1. Definition of Open Stakes [ref: Kennel Club Field trial regulations J.2.d. (1) - A Stake in which dogs have the opportunity of gaining a qualification towards the title of Field Trial Champion or towards entry in the Championship or Champion Stake for its breed and in which entry is open to all dogs of a specified breed or breeds, it may be limited to a prescribed number of runners, in which case these shall be decided by a Draw conducted in accordance with regulation J.6.g. so that preference is given to previous performance
2. Preference in the draw – Open Stakes
(a) Members dogs which have gained a First, Second, Third or Fourth Award in a 24 dog Open Stake or First, second or Third Award in a 12 dog Open Stake or First Award in All Aged or Novice Stakes or a Second Award in an All Aged or Novice Stake if gained prior to 1 July 1993
(b) Non Members dogs with the above Awards
(c) Members dogs which gained other Awards
(d) Non Members dogs which have gained other Awards
(e) Other dogs
3.Definition of Novice Stakes [ref: Kennel Club Field trial regulations J.2.d. (2)] - A Novice Stake is a Stake that is confined to dogs that have not gained the following Awards
(a) First, Second, Third or Fourth in 24 dog Open Stakes
(b) First, Second or Third in 12 dog Open Stakes
(c) First in All Aged or Novice Stakes or two Second Awards in All Aged or Novice Stakes if gained prior to 1 July 1993
4. Separate cheques for Administration Fee and Entry Fee for ALL entries
5. Separate cheques and Entry Forms are required for each dog entered, except in the case of Substitute dog(s)
6. A stamped, addressed envelope must accompany ALL entries to qualify for entry into the draw
7. Failure to comply with the Conditions of Entry at points 3, 4 and 5 above will result in entries NOT being included in the draw
8. Originators of any Entry Form(s) received that fail to satisfy the Requirements of Entry into the draw will not be informed of the results of the draw. Results of the draw will be notified by post in the stamped, addressed envelope included with entries
9. Incomplete or illegible Entry Forms will be automatically excluded from the draw
10. Perpetual Trophies are to be retained for a period of one year, or until the corresponding Stake in the season following the award, and are the responsibility of those Members to whom they are awarded until the safe return to the appropriate Field Trial Secretary. Additionally, it is the responsibility of Members awarded any Society Trophy to complete any engraving that may be required
11. Telephone, facsimile or late entries will NOT be accepted
12. Should a dog be drawn to run in a Stake and then withdraw for any reason the Owner may run a substitute dog in its place provided
(a) The substitute dog has gained a qualification for the equivalent preference in the draw AT THE DATE OF THE DRAW
(b) The substitution is notified to the Field Trial Secretary 5 days prior to the date of the Stake
(c) Details of substitute dog(s) MUST be included in the Entry Form for that Stake and MUST be clearly marked as Substitute
13. Should circumstance so dictate the Society, in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club at the earliest opportunity
14. The Society may reserve to itself the right to refuse entry, except that this shall not apply in terms of the preference in the Draw Regulations [ref. J.6.g.]
15. Bitches in season and non-competing dogs will not be allowed in the grounds of the Trial
16. All Competitors, Stewards or other Members of the Society attending a Trial will be under the direction of the Chief Steward
17. Unless approval is agreed with the Field Trial Secretary (Retrievers), prior to the date of the Trial, NO spectators are allowed at any of the Society’s Retriever events
18. The Bristol & West Working Gundog Society cannot accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons, dogs or property however caused
19. The Society reserves the right to withhold Entry Fees in the following circumstances
(a) Members drawn to run in the Stake withdraw from the Stake, unless a Veterinary Certificate is provided within 4 days of the date of the Stake
(b) If when offered from the list of reserves a Member refuses the offer of a run unless a Veterinary Certificate is provided within 4 days of the date of the Stake
20. Where a dog is jointly owned, all owners must be members
