Spaniel Test Results

Novice A.V. Spaniel Test. 20th of August 2011. Held at Badminton by kind permission of The Duke and Duchess of Beaufort.

Our summer test was held on the Badminton Estate by Kind Permission of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort. Twenty Four dogs took part each having their first run in woodland and their second in white grass and bracken. All the dogs were given equal opportunity to show their hunt ups, whilst being fairly tested on their marked and blind retrieves. As always the case in novice tests, some dogs showed themselves better than others when hunting, and equally some dogs coped well with their retrieves where others struggled, but at least this helped pinpoint areas of training that could be improved!

There was a run-off for 2nd and 3rd places, but the overall winner was Rockfall Hope, owned and handled by a delighted Jimmy Tilley who was presented with the Wakedean Challenge Cup by Her Grace the Duchess of Beaufort.
