Spaniel Field Trial Secretary's Report, 2007/2008

On the Spaniel sub Committee side of things, I need to thank Mark Wheeler, who resigned from the committee last year shortly after the AGM, due to heavy work commitments. Mark has worked really hard for the club for many years, by arranging guns for trials and grounds for trial on occassions. Mark will very much be missed, and the Spaniel Committee wish him our very best for the future.

On that same thought; I would very much like to introduce Jeremy Organ to the committee. Jeremy has many, many years experience with Spaniels, and is an ‘A’ panel judge. He has already shown great willingness to help the committee, and has taken part in our events by judging and shooting on several occassions.

Our long standing member of the committee, John Semmens has just recently been added to the ‘B’ panel for spaniels. We are very proud of him as a committee, and also wish him the best for the future. John always helps out with our trials, and is one of the most regualar competitors on the committee.

Due to heavy work commitments last year, I was unable to arrange many of the usual events that the club is associated with, this year we hope to rectify this.

Trial Training Days. The club intend to hold two trial training days, as we did the year before; on game in a real trial setting. Summer training was not arranged by the committee last year, but I am pleased to announce that Geoff Shore and John Dugay will be arranging these dates, and are able to help anyone that contacts them. For those interested both the regular training and the Special Field Trial training arrangements can be seen on the Spaniel training page of our website.

Finally, before I mention the trial training dates. I am very grateful to John Dugay, who ran many of our trial days last year, as due to my work commitments, I was unable to attend. Thank you very much John, I am greatly indebted.
